World Biodiversity Summit sets out to strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration and devise actionable methods on how to create the ambition loops necessary to accelerate finance for nature towards the required nature-based solutions. The inaugural Summit was successfully launched in three parts, culminating in a convening of high-level and influential stakeholders on the sidelines of COP26 in Glasgow, UK, and the three-part 2022 Summit saw convenings alongside UNGA 77 and Climate Week NYC, UNFCCC COP27 and UNCBD COP15.

In 2023, Japan assumes the G7 Presidency. Throughout the year, more than 10 Ministerial Meetings will take place in Japan, from Sapporo in the north to Miyazaki in the south, attended by many government officials, the media, and others from around the world.

From May 19 to 21, the G7 Summit will be held in Hiroshima, my hometown. Hiroshima is a beautiful city surrounded by the lush green Chugoku Mountains, facing the calm Seto Inland Sea. I truly look forward to welcoming the G7 Leaders to Hiroshima. At the same time, as the world's attention turns to Japan this year, it will be a great opportunity to show the world the charms of our country, from beautiful landscapes, traditional culture and local foods to cutting-edge technology.

The 17th International Conference on Community-based Adaptation to Climate Change brings together practitioners, grassroots representatives, local and national government planners, policymakers and donors working at all levels and scales to discuss how we can drive ambition for a climate-resilient future. Following its mission to promote international development and share knowledge, the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and its member the Norwegian Space Agency (NOSA) are pleased to announce that the 2023 Global Space Conference on Climate Change (GLOC 2023) will be taking place in Oslo, Norway on 23 – 25 May 2023. GLOC 2023 will contribute to the global efforts to better understand and battle climate change through the use of space-based services and applications. First conference of its kind, GLOC 2023 is designed to encourage the sharing of programmatic, technical and policy information, as well as collaborative solutions, challenges, lessons learnt, and paths forward among all nations.
